Wheatney is a 3D-printed hydroponic planter, for urban houses. Wheatney is the outcome of research in 3D-printing technology, and its potential to create unique surfaces. The sprouting surface – consisting of spikes in high density, is not possible to manufacture with traditional molding techniques. The spikes' angles are designed to fit the printer's capabilities.
The unique structure allows the planted seeds to grow roots and sprouts, and to absorb water and light.
The watering mechanism is based on the arch-shaped planter – the water spreads equally, therefore requiring only a small amount of water for the entire planter. The water gathers in the bottom and drains into the sink once a week.
Wheatney is easy to use, and everyone can enjoy it!
